Privacy at SkallTech

This is a one-page site with no accounts, no sign-up, and nothing to log in to. The only thing we collect is a count of how the site is used — and we built that counter ourselves, precisely so it would not need a cookie banner.

What we collect

When you open a page on skall.tech, our own analytics records:

  • The page you viewed, and the country it was viewed from
  • Which sections you opened — Services, Work, About
  • Clicks on the contact link and on the “Start a project” buttons
  • Clicks through to our own project sites, beepbop.eu and lingualite.eu
  • The site that referred you, if any — the domain only, never the full address
  • Your browser and operating system by family — “Safari”, “iOS” — never the full identifying string, plus whether the screen is phone, tablet or desktop sized, and your browser's language setting
  • Campaign tags (utm_source and the like), if a link you followed carried them

That is the complete list. There is no contact form on this site: if you email us, that conversation is ordinary email and is not part of any of this.

What we don't

  • No cookies and no device storage of any kind — nothing is written to your browser, so there is nothing to accept or decline
  • No advertising and no advertising networks
  • No third-party trackers. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no tag manager
  • No cross-site tracking. We cannot tell that a visitor here is the same person who visited another of our sites
  • No IP retention. Your IP address is never stored
  • No fingerprinting — no canvas, no font probing, no device enumeration
  • No sale or sharing of anything collected, with anyone

How visitors are counted

Counting how many people visited normally means giving each one a lasting identifier. We do not do that. Instead, your IP address and browser type are combined with a secret random key and run through a one-way hash, producing a short code that cannot be reversed back into either. That code is what gets counted.

The key is replaced with a new random one every day. So today's code and tomorrow's code for the same person are unrelated, and neither can be connected to you. It tells us “two people visited today”; it cannot tell us that one of them came back on Thursday.

Your IP address exists for a fraction of a second inside the web server that already received it, is used only to look up your country and to produce that daily code, and is then discarded. It is never written to our database and never written to a log.

Where it lives

The counter runs on this website's own server, in the EU — not on an advertising network's infrastructure and not on a third party's. The anonymous totals are stored in a Supabase database hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. Supabase is our only sub-processor for this. Nothing collected here is transferred outside the EEA at any point.

How long we keep it

Individual events are deleted after 90 days. The anonymous daily totals derived from them — page counts by country, and so on — are kept for 25 months so that one year can be compared with the last.

Your rights

Because nothing we collect identifies you, and because we hold no IP address and no persistent identifier, we have no record that can be traced back to you — so there is nothing for us to look up, export, correct or erase on request. That is by design rather than an evasion: the way to not misuse personal data is to not collect it.

We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding how our own website is used (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). If you would rather not be counted at all, we honour the Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals your browser can send, and the counter simply does not run.

Links out

This site links to beepbop.eu and lingualite.eu, which are also ours and are covered by their own privacy policies, and to the Apple App Store and Google Play, which are not. Once you follow a link away from here, that site's policy applies.

Changes

If we change what is collected, we will update this page and the date at the top of it before the change goes live, not after.
